'The End of Poverty?'
Why, when there is so much wealth in the world, is there so much poverty? This film describes how poverty is not an accident - 1492 marks the birth of modern times when conquistadors violently extracted gold and other natural resources. Since then the economic system has been financed by the poor - forcing them to give up their land and access to natural resources.....
Narrated by Martin Sheen, the film features Chesham's own John Christensen

'To Kill a Mockingbird'
Set in the rural American south in the 1930s and based on Harper Lee's Pulitzer prize winning book about intolerance

Thursday 5th March 7.30pm Film and Fairtrade fashion show
'China Blue'
Starting with the film China Blue which takes us inside a blue jeans factory in China. The film, made clandestinely, shows us what the international retailers don't want us to see.
Fairtrade Fashion Show
After the film, there will be a show of Fairtrade fashion clothes from the Traidcraft and People Tree collections.
Additionally, Shed@ThePark the inclusive theatre company based at Chesham Park Community College will also perform their own specially written Fairtrade song.
Tickets £9 (£7.50 concessions) with £1 off if bought with a ticket to the Fairtrade Film Festival.
