Shed@ThePark Wows Chesham Crowds
Shed@ThePark celebrated the launch of their new CD with free concerts in Chesham. On Saturday 4th July, the inclusive theatre group performed a variety of their songs on the steps of the United Reform Church in The Broadway at midday. The concert featured the Fairtrade-themed song "Sow".
After drawing a crowd in The Broadway, the performers moved down the High Street to sing as part of a free music festival at the Drawingroom later in the day. The Drawingroom's owner, Richard Elkington said of the Shed group, "To hear your voices singing in harmony together was wonderful, especially as the songs are on themes close to my own heart, including Fairtrade. If we all decided to change to buying just one more Fairtrade product regularly in the local shops that would make such a big difference to farmers and workers in the developing world."
Chesham Fairtrade Chairman, Colin Cartwright thanked the United Reform Church for hosting the performance, and also Richard Elkington, organiser of the free Drawingroom concert for including Shed@ThePark. Colin said, "We are very pleased to be working together with Shed to show off the talents of young people locally. We're thrilled that one of the songs has a Fairtrade theme and would invite people in the town to buy the CD."
If you missed their performances, Shed@ThePark will be appearing at Cafe Africa on the Chesham Road in Amersham on Friday 17th July at 7.30 pm.
The new CD is available at £2.99 from local shops including Perfect Pitch, Oxfam, The Drawingroom, Cafe Africa and JPS Stationers.
