It's been a significant year for Chesham4Fairtrade, as we celebrate our 10th year as a Fairtrade Town. We'd like to thank everyone who came along and celebrated with us at our birthday party in Market Square.

We were blessed with wonderful weather and many people joined us to listen to the music played by local musicians George Papavgeris and Lou's Sextet, as well as enjoying our Fairtrade birthday cake baked by local volunteer Carol Maguire and pots of Fairtrade tea sold by Brazil's Cafe, especially for the day.

Over the year, we've attended as many events in town as we can, as well as running several events ourselves, all to raise the profile of Fairtrade. And we have done our best to raise awareness of Chesham's history in campaigning for social justice, through telling the story of local 18th Century anti-slavery heroine Lydia Hardy. Lydia was present at our Birthday Party - well, local resident Judy Bailey was dressed as Lydia - and got to hear 'Lydia's Song', a tribute penned by George Papavgeris.

So, here's to 10 more years!
