Chesham will be celebrating its 5th year as a Fairtrade Town in March. Now that's something worth celebrating, so we're having a big birthday party and you're all invited!
Chesham4Fairtrade is taking over Chesham Town Hall for the day and putting on a host of activities, including a cookery demonstration, Fairtrade cafe, children's activities, talks and local producer stalls. We're having our party on Saturday 27th March and it starts at 10 am.
From 10 am to 4 pm we will be running a range of activities to occupy all ages. The guest speakers include Sally Reith from Shared Interest, the co-operative lending society working to reduce poverty through fair and just financial services. There will also be a live link to Ghana to demonstrate first hand the impact of Fairtrade in developing countries.
There will be plenty of tasty treats on offer thanks to our Fairtrade Cafe, local producer stalls and the Go Bananas cookery demonstration. You can also help judge the great Birthday Bake-Off competition by sampling the entries and choosing your favourite.
Entry is just £1 for adults (kids go free) with all entrants going into a draw to win a Fairtrade and local hamper.
Do come along and help us to celebrate the difference that Chesham buying Fairtrade has made over the last 5 years.
