Calling all cake lovers! Chesham4Fairtrade is holding a Birthday Bake-Off Competition as part of Chesham's Fifth Birthday celebrations. To celebrate five years as a Fairtrade Town, the Birthday Bake-Off will see cakes judged on their taste, appearance and the number of Fairtrade and local ingredients that they contain.

Bake something like this and you could be a winner!

There are loads of Fairtrade products in Chesham's shops, including coffee, nuts, sugar, chocolate, fruit, dried fruit, vanilla and honey. Local ingredients including eggs, honey and flour are also available in town, so get inventive!

The winner will receive a Fairtrade recipe book and tasty Fairtrade baking goodies.

An application form can be downloaded here: Bake-Off Application Form (PDF file, 152 KB)

Or you can pick up a hard copy from the Town Hall, off the High Street, or by request to 01494 583798 or policy@chesham.gov.uk.

Bring your cake to the Town Hall by 11am on the 27th March and you will get free entry into Chesham4Fairtrade's Birthday celebration, which runs from 10 am to 4 pm and features a Fairtrade Cafe, cookery demonstration, kids' activities and presentations, including a live link to Ghana to discover the difference we make when we buy Fairtrade. The competition result will be announced between 3 and 4 pm on the day.

If you prefer eating to baking, come along on the 27th to sample the cakes, cast your vote and celebrate 5 years of Fairtrade in Chesham.
